ENEOS and Mitsubishi Corporation Partner to Advance Hydrogen Supply Chain and Decarbonized Fuels
Key Ideas
  • ENEOS and Mitsubishi Corporation signed an MOU to jointly study the implementation of hydrogen and decarbonized fuels, with a focus on hydrogen supply chain using Methylcyclohexane.
  • ENEOS is currently operating hydrogen stations for fuel cell vehicles in Japan and aims to build a CO2-free hydrogen supply chain for industrial complex areas with government support.
  • Mitsubishi Corporation is dedicated to developing and promoting next-generation energy, including hydrogen, to achieve a carbon-neutral society through the Energy Transformation initiative.
  • The partnership aligns with MC's Materiality strategy of realizing a carbon-neutral society and contributes to societal needs by supporting decarbonization and stable, sustainable lifestyles.
ENEOS Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to conduct a joint study on advancing the implementation of hydrogen and decarbonized fuels. ENEOS, a Japanese company, is actively involved in operating hydrogen stations for fuel cell vehicles within Japan and is committed to establishing a CO2-free hydrogen supply chain for domestic industrial complex areas with the support of the Japanese government's Green Innovation Fund Projects. On the other hand, Mitsubishi Corporation has been focusing on developing and creating demand for next-generation energy sources, including hydrogen, as part of their efforts to drive the Energy Transformation initiative towards achieving a carbon-neutral society. The two companies will collaborate on studying the development of a hydrogen supply chain utilizing Methylcyclohexane (MCH) and promoting the use of synthetic fuels derived from CO2-free hydrogen. The joint efforts of ENEOS and Mitsubishi Corporation aim to address climate change challenges and promote initiatives aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions to contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral and recycling-oriented society. The partnership not only focuses on advancing hydrogen technologies but also aligns with Mitsubishi Corporation's Materiality strategy, emphasizing the importance of realizing a carbon-neutral society and enriching society materially and spiritually by supporting decarbonization and stable, sustainable lifestyles.
