Energiequelle, a prominent European renewable energy group, has announced its ambitious hydrogen project in Oulu, Finland, marking the company's first public venture into hydrogen technology in the country. The Oulu Green Hydrogen Park project includes the development of a hydrogen production plant with a capacity of up to 500 MW, alongside hydrogen refueling stations for buses and heavy-duty vehicles. The initial phase focuses on constructing a 5 MW production facility and a refueling station, with an anticipated completion date of 2028. Subsequent phases aim to scale up production to 10-50 MW and potentially 100-500 MW, with considerations for hydrogen exports through a planned pipeline and the port of Oulu. The project aligns with the City of Oulu's strategy of hosting multiple hydrogen production sites on the same industrial grounds, totaling a combined potential capacity of 1500 MW, emphasizing the region's commitment to hydrogen infrastructure development.
