Fuel Cell Systems will play a vital role in the Hyer Power hydrogen refuelling project, facilitating the development of hydrogen fuel-cell-powered emergency and heavy-duty vehicles. By securing an £825,500 contract from Oxfordshire County Council, the company will oversee the installation of hydrogen refuelling infrastructure in Hungerford. This infrastructure will support hydrogen-powered fire engines, ambulances, and highways vehicles, contributing to the broader decarbonisation of heavy-duty transport. FCSL will provide green hydrogen production using their HyPro electrolyser system and hydrogen dispensing with the HyQube refueller. The project, with a total budget of £8 million and led by ULEMCo, is funded by the Advanced Propulsion Centre and Innovate UK, showcasing the UK's dedication to low-carbon transport innovation. Managed by Oxfordshire County Council, the initiative aims to pave the way for a cleaner and more sustainable future for emergency services and beyond. Dr Lee Juby, CEO at FCSL, expressed excitement about collaborating with Oxfordshire County Council and ULEMCo to accelerate the transition towards zero-emission transport. He highlighted the successful track record of FCSL's hydrogen refuelling products in real-world applications since 2017.
