Air Liquide, as the Official Hydrogen Supporter of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, is set to supply hydrogen of renewable origin to power five electro-hydrogen generators at the competition venues in Versailles and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. This move is part of the environmental commitment of the event, with the hydrogen being sourced through water electrolysis or biomethane production with guarantees of origin. In collaboration with the Organizing Committee for Paris 2024, Air Liquide's role extends to fuelling the electro-hydrogen generators along with the official fleet vehicles. Additionally, Loxam and GL events, as Official Supporter and Official Partner of Paris 2024, will supply generators to increase local electrical capacity, ensuring smooth operation of the cell phone network antennas during key events like equestrian, modern pentathlon, and golf. This groundbreaking initiative not only highlights the sustainable approach of Paris 2024 but also showcases the growing importance of renewable energy sources, particularly hydrogen, in major global events.
