Honda has announced the introduction of the 2025 Honda CR-V e FCEV, a hydrogen fuel cell model with plug-in capability that will be available for lease exclusively in California starting from July 9, 2024. The model will be offered through a network of 12 approved Honda dealerships across California. With three lease options based on the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of $50,000, Honda aims to attract customers to hydrogen technology by including hydrogen refueling credits in the lease terms. The 2025 Honda CR-V e FCEV features a hydrogen fuel cell powertrain with plug-in charging capability, offering a range of 270 miles, including 29 miles in all-electric mode. The model boasts a range of well-equipped features, including a digital instrumentation display, touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto compatibility, wireless phone charging, premium audio system, and sustainable materials in the interior. Honda's lease terms provide customers with different options for lease duration and mileage allowances, with hydrogen refueling credits to offset the costs amid the limited hydrogen refueling infrastructure. The company plans to produce a limited number of units annually as part of their test fleet for hydrogen technology advancements.
