Juma Al Majid Co., the exclusive distributor for Hyundai in the UAE, has introduced two hydrogen fuel cell buses in the public transport system of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. These buses, named Elec City FC and Universe FC, are part of the Green Bus Programme organized by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) in Abu Dhabi. The initiative, running from the present until the end of 2025, includes a mix of electric and hydrogen buses serving the city and regional routes. Suliman Al Zaben, Director of Hyundai UAE, expressed pride in this collaboration with ITC, emphasizing the focus on sustainable and innovative transportation solutions. He highlighted the significance of delivering advanced hydrogen-powered buses to Abu Dhabi, underscoring the commitment to clean energy and pioneering technologies in the region. The Green Bus Programme aims to evaluate technologies in hydrogen and electric power for public transport, engaging in partnerships with international authorities and bus manufacturers. This comprehensive plan seeks to offer environmentally friendly options to the residents, visitors, and commuters in Abu Dhabi, aligning with the vision for a greener and more sustainable future.
