Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) and Glovis America have collaborated to deploy 21 Hyundai XCIENT heavy-duty hydrogen fuel-cell electric trucks for clean logistics operations. These trucks will transport vehicle parts from HMGMA suppliers to the Megasite, supporting a cleaner alternative to traditional freight logistics methods. This industry-leading initiative marks a significant step forward in reducing carbon footprint and promoting sustainable practices. The deployment of zero-emissions hydrogen fuel cell technology demonstrates Hyundai Motor Group's commitment to responsible environmental stewardship. The XCIENT trucks are set to expand logistics operations from suppliers to a broader network, with plans to represent more than one-third of the Glovis America truck fleet at HMGMA. Hyundai's new hydrogen value chain brand, HTWO, plays a key role in this initiative, covering the entire hydrogen value chain from production to utilization. The deployment of XCIENT trucks for logistics operations aligns with HTWO's vision to create a closed-loop hydrogen logistics ecosystem, improving environmental sustainability. Additionally, HTWO Logistics, a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Company and Glovis America, will establish a mobile hydrogen refueling station at the Megasite for efficient refueling, with plans for a hydrogen production and refueling station in the works.
