A groundbreaking ceremony was held in Shannan, Xizang, to mark the commencement of a hydrogen energy industrial park project, the first of its kind in Southwest China. The project, initiated by the Nedong district government in collaboration with a power technology company from Shenzhen, is aimed at producing 1,000 standard cubic meters of high-purity hydrogen and 300 cubic meters of high-purity oxygen per hour. The partnership, established through an investment agreement in October 2024, highlights a significant step towards driving economic growth and technological innovation in the region. Sonam Phuntsog, the head of Nedong, emphasized that apart from contributing to the economic development of Xizang, the project also serves as a pivotal initiative in advancing the plateau's renewable energy industry. With the first phase set to be operational by September, the project is anticipated to not only bolster the local economy but also offer valuable insights for the sustainable growth of the renewable energy sector in the region.
