Lhyfe, a French developer, is undertaking the construction of its fifth green hydrogen production plant in Croixrault, located in the Somme region of Hauts-de-France. This new facility is set to be operational from 2026 and is projected to generate up to two tonnes of hydrogen per day. Notably, this marks Lhyfe's first establishment in northern France, indicating a strategic expansion of its green hydrogen footprint. The company envisions supplying the produced green hydrogen to support various mobility applications in the region. Additionally, the 5MW unit at the Croixrault site is designed to play a role in stabilizing the local power grid by adapting its electricity consumption based on broader power requirements. Lhyfe's Sales Director, Maud Augeai, emphasized the pivotal link between decarbonization and competitiveness, expressing enthusiasm about utilizing the hydrogen from Croixrault to advance the energy transition, foster reindustrialization, and bolster energy sovereignty in the region. By integrating the Croixrault plant into its portfolio, Lhyfe aims to enhance its coverage across France, with existing production sites in Pays de la Loire, Brittany, and Occitanie, and a future site in Auvergne Rhône-Aples.
