In New Zealand, North Rakaia Ltd and Mobii Green Energy Group have joined forces to build the world's first green hydrogen AI data centre. The collaboration includes the construction of 850MW solar farms, 300MW wind farms, green hydrogen production facilities, power generation units, and AI data center campuses, all powered by 100% green energy in Canterbury. This $2 billion investment signifies the inception of Mobii Green Energy's Global Green Hydrogen Intelligent City (Green HI-City) initiative. The partnership aims to drive technological innovation, create employment opportunities, and facilitate New Zealand's transition towards green energy and AI advancement. Through the involvement of global leaders like Super Micro, VNET, TSTI, and Google, the project will develop a modular green hydrogen computing center to efficiently meet customer demands. The initiative is set to reduce the country's reliance on traditional power sources and work towards achieving carbon neutrality. Additionally, plans for a dedicated port for exporting green hydrogen are in place, indicating a substantial shift towards sustainable energy practices. By positioning New Zealand as a global AI innovation hub, the partnership is expected to attract talent and technology, ultimately contributing to the advancement of agriculture and providing low-cost, high-quality food for the global population.
