The setup includes 372kW solar PV, 1MWh battery storage, and 21 units of 5kW hydrogen fuel cell generators, totaling 105kW capacity. This retrofit, costing around €130 million, aims to demonstrate that the site can operate solely on renewable sources, showcasing a sustainable approach to manufacturing microwave ovens and appliances. An energy management system will be operational by March 2025 to ensure a stable supply of renewable energy by matching production to demand and weather conditions. Panasonic's tailored hydrogen fuel cell generators and solar power system optimize energy usage, with excess power stored in batteries.
