Key Ideas
- Haush Ltd submitted plans for a 15MW green hydrogen production facility at Pembroke Dockyard in Pembrokeshire.
- The facility aims to produce green hydrogen using renewable energy sources for decarbonising transportation and construction industries.
- The project aligns with the vision for Pembroke Dock Marine to become a leading center for marine energy and engineering, focusing on low carbon energy.
- Safety measures include no fixed onsite storage of hydrogen, with production on-demand and transportation using tube-trailers.
A 15MW green hydrogen fuel production facility project has been submitted for approval to Pembrokeshire County Council by green energy specialists Haush Ltd. The proposed facility, to be located at Gate 4, Pembroke Dockyard, Pembroke Dock, includes electrolysers, compressors, a substation, and associated infrastructure for producing green hydrogen from water using electricity from renewable sources. Haush's vision is to tackle the challenge of decarbonizing the transportation and construction sectors by partnering with communities to produce green hydrogen, a clean and renewable energy source that can significantly reduce carbon emissions. The proposal aligns with Pembroke Dock Marine's goal to transition into a top-tier center for marine energy and engineering with a focus on low carbon energy. The project plans for up to six HGV movements per day, each taking five hours to fill to capacity, with a low turnaround of vehicles. Safety measures include no fixed onsite storage of hydrogen, on-demand production, and immediate offsite transportation using tube-trailers. The application, supported by Locogen Consulting Ltd, will be reviewed at a later date.
