The Hyd'Occ renewable hydrogen production unit in Port-la Nouvelle, Aude, France, is set to be powered by an electricity supply contract secured by The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) from Qair France and other partners. TRIG will provide electricity sourced from its onshore wind farms in the Occitanie region, supporting the development of a sustainable energy model in the area. The €60m Hyd'Occ project, scheduled to be operational in 2025, aims to produce 3,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually for maritime, land, river, and rail transport, as well as industrial usage. The partnership between TRIG and Qair France not only signifies a step towards a cleaner future but also contributes to France's green hydrogen energy transition plan. The collaboration aligns with TRIG's revenue management strategy of securing attractive power purchase agreements to provide locally generated renewable electricity. The Hyd'Occ facility is expected to be the largest renewable hydrogen production site in France, generating 40% of the country's hydrogen output. This significant project marks a milestone in the decarbonisation efforts, highlighting the importance of sustainable energy practices and partnerships in achieving a more environmentally friendly future.
