Air Liquide, a global leader in gases and services, is set to invest up to 850 million dollars in establishing a low-carbon oxygen production platform in Baytown, Texas. This investment will include the construction of four Large Modular Air separation units to supply ExxonMobil's low-carbon hydrogen project with 9,000 metric tons per day of oxygen and 6,500 metric tons per day of nitrogen. The project aims to reduce the CO2 footprint of oxygen production by two-thirds, leveraging innovative solutions and low-carbon electricity. Air Liquide's investment is a significant step towards decarbonization, with a focus on enhancing the industrial footprint in the U.S. The project, subject to final investment decision, is poised to become the largest industrial investment in the history of the Air Liquide Group.
