Key Ideas
  • DuPont releases DuPont AmberLite P2X110 Ion Exchange Resin for green hydrogen production, aiding in decarbonization efforts.
  • Green hydrogen made from water and renewable energy can play crucial roles in transforming energy sectors like transportation and heating.
  • AmberLite P2X110 is designed to withstand the rigors of electrolyzers, providing stable water quality for efficient hydrogen production.
  • Despite a decline in Water & Protection unit revenues, DuPont is forecasted to achieve mid-single-digit organic growth for the full year.
DuPont de Nemours Inc. has introduced its first product for green hydrogen production, the DuPont AmberLite P2X110 Ion Exchange Resin. This resin is specially designed for the chemistry of electrolyzer loops to aid in hydrogen production from water, contributing to decarbonization efforts. Green hydrogen, created using renewable energy-powered electrolysis, has the potential to decarbonize various sectors like transportation and heating. The resin offers durability and stable water quality, preventing contaminant build-up in the electrolyzer loop and promising a longer service life compared to industry generic resins. Despite an expected decline in revenues in the Water & Protection unit, DuPont projects mid-single-digit organic growth for the year. The company aims for 2023 net sales in the range of $12,450-$12,550 million, with adjusted earnings per share forecasted at $3.40-$3.50. In the third quarter of 2023, net sales are estimated at around $3,150 million with adjusted earnings per share projected at approximately 84 cents. Additionally, DuPont's stock has seen a significant gain over the past year, reflecting positive investor sentiment towards its developments in the green hydrogen market.
