The Clean Hydrogen Partnership in Europe has kickstarted efforts to accelerate the establishment of hydrogen valleys through the initiation of the Hydrogen Valleys Facility. This facility aims to provide crucial support for hydrogen valley projects in various stages of development, with a focus on European countries while leaving room for extending assistance to third countries as well. The initiative includes knowledge retention, analysis, and dissemination to enhance the effectiveness of hydrogen valley projects. Moreover, the Hydrogen Valleys Facility will play a pivotal role in updating and managing the Mission Innovation Hydrogen Valley Platform, a global platform for sharing information on large-scale hydrogen projects. The call for a contract worth €12.5 million, spanning a maximum of five years, signals a significant investment in advancing clean hydrogen technologies. Recent funding of €105.4 million was allocated to nine hydrogen valley projects across Europe, underlining a substantial commitment to fostering innovation in the hydrogen sector. Notable initiatives such as the BalticSeaH2 project and the North Adriatic Hydrogen Valley (NAHV) project highlight the diverse and collaborative nature of hydrogen valley developments, encompassing multiple countries and pilot projects. Furthermore, private investments like Cepsa's Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley exemplify the growing interest in large-scale production of green hydrogen. With these endeavors, the Clean Hydrogen Partnership is set to drive impactful progress in the utilization and expansion of hydrogen technologies across Europe and beyond.
