Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser AS, a subsidiary of Nel ASA, has inked a significant deal with Samsung C&T Corporation Engineering & Construction Group for a groundbreaking nuclear-connected pink hydrogen project. This venture involves the deployment of 10 MW of alkaline electrolyzer equipment worth around EUR 5 million. The initiative aims to leverage excess nuclear power to produce hydrogen, thereby maximizing energy efficiency and minimizing waste during periods of oversupply. Samsung C&T's Head of Energy Solution Business Unit, Byung Soo Lee, expressed confidence in Nel's technology and emphasized the importance of reliable electrolysis technology for the success of the project. The partnership between Samsung C&T and Nel showcases a commitment to advancing clean hydrogen solutions and contributing to the energy transition landscape. The purchase order encompasses alkaline stacks and balance-of-stacks components, which will be manufactured at the Herøya facility in Norway.
