Hygenco Green Energies has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mitsubishi Power to explore the possibility of delivering green hydrogen and ammonia-fired gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plants. This collaboration aims to provide integrated solutions in India and internationally, focusing on deploying sustainable energy solutions. The partnership between Hygenco and Mitsubishi Power is supported by JICA, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable growth. The goal is to develop and deploy scaled-up, commercially viable green hydrogen and green ammonia production assets to support the decarbonization of power generation processes. By converting existing GTCC plants' fuel from natural gas to hydrogen and ammonia, Mitsubishi Power is at the forefront of developing technologies for a sustainable energy future. The involvement of SBI Ventures Limited, managing the Neev II Fund, highlights the significance of investing in green hydrogen and ammonia production for India's energy security, energy transition, and environmental sustainability. This collaboration represents a step towards innovative and sustainable energy solutions, emphasizing the strategic Indo-Japan partnership in fostering green energy and reducing carbon emissions globally.
