  • Project aims to decarbonize Texas' transportation sector and pave the way for future hydrogen developments in North America.
  • Initiative includes renewable hydrogen production, storage technologies, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
  • Anthony Allard highlights the importance of advancing hydrogen production for clean energy transition.
Hitachi Energy has become a part of the 'H2@Scale in Texas and Beyond' initiative led by the US Department of Energy. Collaborating with GTI Energy, Frontier Energy, The University of Texas Austin, and other industry partners, Hitachi Energy will contribute its expertise in integrating renewable energy sources with power grids. The project focuses on decarbonizing Texas' transportation sector and is set to become a key player in future hydrogen developments in North America and beyond. The 'H2@Scale' project features various hydrogen production options, including a hydrogen refueling station paired with hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Anthony Allard, Executive Vice President at Hitachi Energy, emphasized the significance of this initiative in advancing hydrogen production and its crucial role in the transition towards clean energy. This project is considered one of the most significant setups for renewable hydrogen production, storage, and utilization technologies at a single site, setting the stage for the wider adoption of hydrogen in reducing carbon emissions in Texas.
