The HyPRO consortium in the Netherlands is at the forefront of advancing green hydrogen production technology through the development and enhancement of electrolysis processes using green electricity. Comprising ten universities, five universities of applied sciences, two research institutes, and more than 40 companies from different countries including the UK, Italy, Denmark, France, and Germany, the consortium aims to address the challenges of cost reduction and scaling up production in the green hydrogen sector. The National Growth Fund Programme GroenvermogenNL is a key initiative supporting the transition from fossil-based industries to sustainable energy solutions by leveraging green hydrogen. This program, operational until 2028, is pivotal in building a new industry and fostering a business environment conducive to sustainable energy practices in the Netherlands. It emphasizes the importance of well-trained workforce, knowledge dissemination, and collaboration for a successful energy transition. Under the National Growth Fund, NWO facilitates thematic programs that promote research, knowledge development, and innovation to enhance the long-term economic viability and overall well-being of the Netherlands. By bringing together stakeholders from the public and private sectors, these programs play a crucial role in driving innovations that support sustainable growth and development in the country.
