Hyundai Motor Group has announced an expansion of its collaboration with Singapore, particularly in the areas of sustainable energy and advanced manufacturing solutions. The company signed a memorandum of understanding with Nanyang Technological University during the Singapore-Korea Business Forum, focusing on joint research projects. One significant aspect of this partnership is the exploration of hydrogen production using Hyundai Motor's plastic-to-hydrogen and waste-to-hydrogen systems. These systems aim to convert organic waste and non-recyclable plastic into hydrogen for powering fuel cell vehicles, aligning with Singapore's goal of building an eco-friendly mobility ecosystem and reducing reliance on natural gas. Additionally, Hyundai's Innovation Center in Singapore, the HMGICS, will work with local institutions to advance car manufacturing technologies driven by artificial intelligence and robotics. This collaborative effort seeks to contribute to developing sustainable future mobility solutions and supporting Singapore's digitalization initiatives. Hyundai's Executive Chair emphasized the significance of combining Korea's manufacturing technology with Singapore's business environment for mutual growth and innovation, highlighting the potential for further cooperation in digitalization, future energy, and achieving net-zero targets between the two countries.
