Hyundai has introduced a fleet of 21 XCIENT heavy-duty hydrogen fuel-cell electric trucks in Georgia to transport vehicle parts from suppliers to the Megasite in Bryan County near Savannah. Unlike traditional electric vehicles, these trucks utilize fuel cells that are powered by hydrogen, providing a cleaner alternative with zero emissions for freight logistics. The development of a hydrogen production and refueling station at the Megasite further supports this eco-friendly initiative. Oscar Kwon, CEO of Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, expressed the company's dedication to sustainable transportation solutions through the deployment of these hydrogen trucks. This move represents a step forward in adopting environmentally friendly practices in the manufacturing and transportation sectors.
