Hyundai Motor's Chung Mong-koo Foundation organized the 'K-Climate Tech Startup Forum' at the 37th Korea-U.S. Science and Technology Conference in San Francisco. The event brought together scientists and engineers from South Korea and the U.S. to showcase innovative climate technologies. Nine research teams and startups presented their achievements, startup processes, and visions under the theme of 'Lab to Society: Social Diffusion of Climate Tech Research.' The presentations included topics like energy urban forest development, eco-catalyst synthesis for green hydrogen, and heavy fiber membrane manufacturing for high-purity hydrogen. Other highlighted technologies encompassed carbon-neutral lithium enrichment, sustainable aviation oil production, ecological restoration for forest fire prevention, soil restoration using moss spores, and marine carbon capture using artificial coral polymers. Chung Mong-koo expressed the foundation's commitment to supporting clean tech research and development for a sustainable future. The forum aimed to empower climate tech startups to enter the global market, including Silicon Valley, setting the stage for impactful collaborations and advancements in environmental sustainability.
