Hyundai has unveiled the second-generation Nexo at the Seoul Mobility Show, showcasing a hydrogen-powered SUV with a range of over 435 miles. The new Nexo sports a bold design inspired by the Pontiac Aztek and features Hyundai's 'Art of Steel' design language. With a more spacious interior, a more powerful 201bhp electric motor, and improvements in the hydrogen fuel cell stack, the Nexo promises enhanced performance and efficiency. The vehicle also boasts a larger hydrogen tank, increased fuel storage capacity, and aero improvements to reduce drag. In addition to its performance upgrades, the new Nexo offers advanced features such as an FCEV route planner to locate hydrogen filling stations, active noise cancelling technology, wireless phone charging, and V2L technology that enables the vehicle to act as a generator. The interior is equipped with premium amenities including a Bang & Olufsen sound system, a head-up display, and a curved digital dash with dual 12.3-inch displays. Despite challenges related to hydrogen infrastructure, Hyundai remains committed to fuel-cell electric vehicles and believes in the potential of the Nexo. The company plans to launch the Nexo in global markets later this year, aiming to improve the adoption of hydrogen-powered cars. While specific pricing and availability details are yet to be announced, Hyundai's dedication to advancing hydrogen propulsion technology is evident in the innovative features of the new Nexo.
