Solar Energy Corp. of India Ltd (SECI) has awarded multiple companies with Letters of Award for setting up electrolyzer manufacturing capacities under tranche II of the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme. Advait Energy Transitions Ltd received an LOA to establish 200 MW of alkaline electrolyser manufacturing capacity. This scheme saw a total of eleven companies, with a cumulative capacity of 1.5 GW, winning incentives to manufacture electrolyzers in India.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) has published a map identifying potential geologic hydrogen resources in the United States, providing insights into regions with ideal conditions for hydrogen accumulation. Plug Power has secured a substantial $1.66 billion loan guarantee from the US Department of Energy to enhance domestic manufacturing and hydrogen production, planning to develop low-carbon hydrogen projects in various US locations starting initially in Texas.
Additionally, Plug Power has partnered with Allied Green Ammonia to supply 3 GW of electrolyzers for a hydrogen and ammonia facility in Australia's Northern Territory, powered by a large solar plant. This initiative aims to produce green ammonia using green hydrogen. Cummins has achieved a breakthrough by developing a new charger for hydrogen internal combustion engines, catering to heavy-duty commercial applications in Europe. The company has also signed a contract to provide H2 ICE turbochargers to a European original equipment manufacturer, further advancing the adoption of hydrogen technology.
