HD Hyundai Infracore has entered into a strategic partnership with Amoji and SK Innovation in the U.S. to collaborate on the development of an innovative clean ammonia hydrogen power generation system. This system utilizes ammonia as a source for hydrogen, which is decomposed to power an engine, offering an environmentally friendly energy solution. HD Hyundai Infracore's role involves engineering a 22-liter hydrogen engine, while Amoji is tasked with creating an ammonia cracker to extract hydrogen from ammonia. SK Innovation, with an ownership stake in Amoji, will play a significant role in the upcoming phases of the project. The partners plan to compete in the distributed generator market and secure government contracts for clean hydrogen power generation. Ammonia's advantages, such as its stable liquid state and lower risk of combustion compared to hydrogen, make it an attractive option for power generation. Additionally, HD Hyundai Infracore's previous achievement with the 'HX12' 11-liter hydrogen engine further solidifies their position as a key player in the hydrogen industry.
