By targeting hard-to-abate sectors like steel, ceramics, and transportation, Italy aims to maximize the role of hydrogen as an energy carrier. The strategy outlines three key pillars: hydrogen demand, production/supply, and transport/infrastructure, with different scenarios and strategic actions proposed up to 2050. Short-term initiatives include creating hydrogen valleys to concentrate production and consumption, facilitating the use of renewable hydrogen, and developing necessary infrastructure.
