The Klaipėda Port Authority in Lithuania has recently entered into a contract with MT Group for the supply of equipment aimed at green hydrogen production and stationary public refuelling stations. The initiative is part of a plan to introduce green hydrogen production and supply at the Port of Klaipėda by 2026. Currently, design work is underway, and the Authority is preparing to launch tendering procedures to select a contractor for the site where the production equipment will be housed. Algis Latakas, the director general of Klaipėda Seaport Authority, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating that the introduction of another environmentally friendly form of energy to Lithuania is underway.
