Lhyfe, a leading player in green and renewable hydrogen production, has announced the start of construction for its maiden green hydrogen plant in Croixrault, located in northern France. The plant, to be situated near the A29 motorway, is pivotal in Lhyfe's expansion plans across Europe and is set to become operational by 2026. With a 5-MW electrolysis capacity, the facility will generate up to two tons of green hydrogen daily, equivalent to the fuel needed for a hydrogen-powered truck to travel around 25,000 kilometers.
The core of Lhyfe's approach lies in producing hydrogen through water electrolysis powered by renewable electricity. This method ensures a sustainable and clean hydrogen supply that is valuable for industries and transport sectors aiming to lower their carbon footprint. The Croixrault project is in line with the broader objectives of the Communauté de Communes Somme Sud-Ouest, a local authority including 119 communities, seeking to boost job opportunities and create a favorable economic environment for businesses.
