Linde, a major industrial gas company, has announced an investment exceeding $2 billion in the construction of a large-scale hydrogen production facility in Alberta, Canada. This facility will play a crucial role in supporting Dow's Fort Saskatchewan Path2Zero project by supplying clean hydrogen. The production process will involve innovative methods like autothermal reforming and Linde's HISORP® carbon capture technology to ensure the production of clean hydrogen. Additionally, the facility will recover hydrogen from off-gases generated by Dow's ethylene cracker. The initial phase of the project aims to provide clean hydrogen, nitrogen, and other services to assist Dow's Net Zero emissions integrated ethylene cracker and derivatives site, making it a significant step towards sustainability. Upon completion, this facility in Alberta will become the largest clean hydrogen production site in Canada, marking it as Linde's largest single investment and second world-scale hydrogen project.
