NEXTCHEM (MAIRE) Enhances BSR's Hydrogen Production in Vietnam with NX Reform™ Technology
Key Ideas
  • NEXTCHEM's subsidiary, KT Tech, awarded licensing and process design package to upgrade BSR's hydrogen production unit in Vietnam using NX Reform™ technology.
  • The new hydrogen production unit will have a capacity of 22,676 cubic metres per hour, offering flexibility in feedstock and capacity while reducing the carbon footprint.
  • The technology is based on steam methane reforming, ensuring high operational efficiency and cost-effective hydrogen production with the potential for CO2 capture.
  • KT Tech will also supply proprietary equipment for the steam methane reforming process during the construction phase of the project.
NEXTCHEM, a subsidiary of MAIRE, has been awarded the licensing and process design package by Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) to upgrade their hydrogen production unit in Vietnam. This upgrade is part of the larger expansion project at Dung Quat Refinery. KT Tech, a subsidiary of NEXTCHEM, will design the new hydrogen production unit with a capacity of 22,676 cubic metres per hour, utilizing its proprietary NX Reform™ technology. This technology focuses on cost-effective hydrogen production, reducing the carbon footprint through potential CO2 capture, and providing flexibility in feedstock and capacity. The solution is based on proven steam methane reforming methods, ensuring high operational efficiency. Alessandro Bernini, the CEO of MAIRE, expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting the company's expertise in upgrading production plants for enhanced efficiency and reduced consumption.
