NextChem (Maire) to Develop Sustainable Aviation Fuel Plant in Indonesia with NX PTU™ and NX SAF™ Bio Technologies
Key Ideas
  • NextChem (Maire) awarded a feasibility study for a 60,000 tonnes per year SAF production facility in Indonesia in collaboration with PT Tripatra Engineers and Constructors.
  • The project will focus on utilizing regionally sourced feedstock like used cooking oil and palm oil mill effluent to produce ultra-low carbon SAF, reducing aviation emissions by up to 95%.
  • The integrated approach of NX PTU™ and NX SAF™ Bio technologies allows for a fast project execution with a modular and compact design, suitable for small-scale plants worldwide.
  • MAIRE CEO, Alessandro Bernini, highlights the commitment to decarbonizing high-impact sectors like aviation by leveraging state-of-the-art technologies and end-to-end solutions.
NEXTCHEM, under MAIRE, has been awarded a feasibility study for a Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) project in Sei Mangkei, Indonesia. The project, in collaboration with PT Tripatra Engineers and Constructors, aims to establish a 60,000 tons per year SAF production facility. The plant will utilize regionally sourced feedstock such as used cooking oil and palm oil mill effluent. NEXTCHEM's proprietary technologies, NX PTU™ and NX SAF™ Bio, will be integrated to create an end-to-end solution for SAF production. The process involves pre-treating the feedstock using NX PTU™ and then refining it into SAF using hydrogen through NX SAF™ Bio technology. This process results in ultra-low carbon SAF, significantly reducing aviation emissions. The modular and compact design of the technologies allows for fast project execution and suitability for small-scale plants globally. MAIRE CEO, Alessandro Bernini, emphasizes the company's dedication to decarbonizing sectors like aviation by employing cutting-edge technologies and comprehensive solutions.
