The initiative aims to utilize green hydrogen starting from 2027 to enhance low carbon glass production, with the plan to eliminate 15,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. This groundbreaking project aligns with NSG Group's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. The proposed hydrogen plant, subject to funding approval under the UK Governments Hydrogen Allocation Round 2, is set to initiate the decarbonization of Pilkington UK and the surrounding industry by 2027.
