Nu:ionic and RW Energy Partner to Advance Low-Carbon Hydrogen Production Across the U.S.
Key Ideas
- Nu:ionic and RW Energy signed an MOU to accelerate hydrogen production and carbon capture initiatives in the U.S.
- RW Energy will oversee project identification, design, and business development for low-carbon energy solutions.
- Strategic locations in California, Texas, and Ohio will host Nu:ionic's Teal Hydrogen™ production equipment.
- Nu:ionic's Nu-X Smart Reformer enables cost-effective production of low-carbon hydrogen at distributed capacities.
Nu:ionic Technologies and RW Energy have joined forces through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance hydrogen production and carbon capture initiatives across the United States. The partnership aims to implement low-carbon energy solutions in various U.S. energy park locations. RW Energy will manage project identification, facility design, business development, and provide expertise in sustainable energy solutions. Nu:ionic will supply modular hydrogen production equipment with integrated carbon capture for sites in Northern California, the Gulf Coast of Texas, and Ohio, with capacities ranging from 1.2 to 6 tonnes/day. The projects are estimated to start operating as early as the fourth quarter of 2025. Nu:ionic's Nu-X Smart Reformer technology allows for the cost-effective production of low-carbon hydrogen by combining natural gas with carbon capture. This collaboration aims to offer low-carbon hydrogen solutions at distributed production capacity in multiple U.S. locations. Both companies envision a future where their efforts lead to zero-emission transportation, biogas upgrading, and overall industrial decarbonization. Nu:ionic, headquartered in Canada with U.S. operations in Tulsa, Oklahoma, focuses on enabling net-zero goals through electrification. RW Energy specializes in developing energy parks that integrate hydrogen and other energy sources to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
