Honeywell and AM Green have joined forces in a groundbreaking initiative to revolutionize India's aviation sector by exploring the production of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), green methanol, and green hydrogen. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed during India Energy Week 2025 aims to assess the feasibility of producing these green fuels from ethanol, carbon dioxide emission sources, and other sustainable methods. The collaboration seeks to reduce India's dependence on crude oil imports, establish the country as a key exporter of green methanol, and help airlines comply with Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) mandates by providing low-carbon fuel alternatives. Honeywell's President in India, Ashish Modi, highlighted the significance of the partnership in advancing India's low-carbon economy and positioning the nation as a leader in alternative fuel innovation. Mahesh Kolli, Co-Founder of AM Green, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing their commitment to global clean energy transition and India's goal of becoming a reliable exporter of sustainable green molecules. The collaboration is expected to drive demand for ethanol feedstocks, benefiting Indian farmers, while supporting the National Green Hydrogen Mission's objective of boosting green hydrogen production.
