Scotland has released its first hydrogen sector export plan, 'A Trading Nation: Realising Scotland’s Hydrogen Potential – A Plan for Exports', aiming to establish the country as a key player in renewable hydrogen production and export by 2030. The plan focuses on seizing economic and net zero opportunities in hydrogen and hydrogen products. It highlights strategies to attract investment, enhance domestic capabilities, improve infrastructure, and develop the international supply chain. The report envisions Scotland delivering 3.3 million tonnes of green hydrogen annually by 2045, showcasing the substantial energy potential. The plan aligns with the Green Industrial Strategy and the Hydrogen Action Plan, emphasizing the importance of the growing energy sector. Acting Energy Secretary Gillian Martin presented the plan, emphasizing Scotland's readiness to drive the hydrogen sector's growth worldwide. The plan's unveiling at Hydrasun, a company excelling in hydrogen technologies, underlines Scotland's progress in the field. Hydrasun's Hydrogen Director, Dr. Stuart Mitchell, praised the plan for reinforcing Scotland's leadership and enabling international growth.
