CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum organized the International Conference, titled “Shaping the Energy Future: Challenges and Opportunities” (SEFCO-2025), in Dehradun. The event, managed by students and young scientists at CSIR-IIP, commenced with a ceremony attended by esteemed guests including Prof KK Pant and Alok Sharma. Day-2 featured technical sessions by experts like Prof Suddhasatwa Basu, Prof Samira Siahrostami, Prof Saptarshi Basu, and Professor Narayan Pradhan, covering topics on energy transition, catalysis, future mobility, and nanocrystal emitters. Keynote lectures by Professor Eric Van Steen and Dr Bharat L Newalkar emphasized sustainable liquid fuels and decentralized green hydrogen production. The panel discussion, moderated by Dr GS Kapur, explored strategies for filling India's energy basket by 2047, with insights from industry experts like Dr Sanat Kumar, Dr Chanchal Samanta, and SK Vatsa. The conference also acknowledged its sponsors including ONGC, EIL, BPCL, IOCL, GAIL, and others.
