TotalEnergies and Air Products have signed a significant 15-year agreement for the supply of 70,000 tonnes per year of green hydrogen in Europe, starting in 2030. This agreement is a response to TotalEnergies' call for tenders to source 500,000 tonnes per year of green hydrogen for decarbonising its European refineries. Air Products will deliver green hydrogen to TotalEnergies' Northern European refineries, reducing approximately 700,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. The deal is a step towards TotalEnergies' goal of cutting net greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030 compared to 2015 levels. The partnership signifies a strategic move towards decarbonisation, with Air Products committing substantial investments to energy transition projects globally. Both companies have expressed their commitment to the transition to green hydrogen and reducing carbon footprints in their operations. In addition to the hydrogen supply agreement, TotalEnergies and Air Products have also signed a memorandum of understanding for the supply of renewable power, starting with a 150 MW solar project in Texas. Further Power Purchase Agreement opportunities are being explored in the UK, Poland, and France, enhancing the partnership's contribution to decarbonisation efforts.
