The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Qair France to supply electricity from its wind farms in the Occitanie region for the Hyd'Occ hydrogen production project in Port-la Nouvelle, France. This collaboration is a significant step towards TRIG's commitment to a cleaner and more secure future. The project, developed by Qair France and AREC Occitanie, is expected to produce 3,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually. Stéphane Péré, Managing Director at AREC, emphasizes that the deal secures renewable electricity supply for renewable hydrogen production, furthering the green hydrogen plan of the Occitanie region. This initiative is poised to become the largest renewable hydrogen production facility in France, playing a crucial role in generating 40% of the country's hydrogen. The Occitanie region is establishing itself as a prominent hub for hydrogen production, with various partners working towards developing low-carbon hydrogen infrastructure. This partnership underscores the growing importance of renewable energy sources like wind power and green hydrogen in the global energy transition towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.
