Veolia Water Technologies collaborated with a food manufacturer to tackle an emerging issue of hydrogen sulphide in the water treatment system using its Hydrex 6935 chemical solution. Staff at the site had reported a sulphur smell, which was traced back to hydrogen sulphide build-up in the wastewater treatment system. Veolia's solution immediately eliminated the odour and prevented further formation of hydrogen sulphide, ensuring no recurrence of the problem. Hydrogen sulphide, a toxic gas with a characteristic odour, was effectively neutralized by Hydrex 6935, demonstrating its efficiency in addressing wastewater issues. The application of the chemical required minimal cost and disruption, with easy management for the on-site team. The successful resolution highlighted the importance of proactive water treatment measures and the significance of sustainable solutions in partnership with clients.
