KBR, a global provider of science, technology, and engineering solutions, has been awarded an advisory consulting contract by Kuwait Oil Company to develop a comprehensive masterplan for the production of 17GW of renewable energy and 25GW of green hydrogen by 2050. This initiative aims to position Kuwait as a leader in sustainable energy and reduce its reliance on fossil fuels. The project involves creating a phased strategy for deploying wind and solar power infrastructure, along with power storage capabilities, to be used for domestic industrial applications and export. Over the next 18 months, KBR will conduct market analysis, feasibility studies, and provide training to Kuwaiti nationals for long-term project success. The project not only benefits Kuwait's economy but also contributes to global efforts in combating climate change and promoting renewable energy sources.
