Hydrogen Safe, based in Greater Manchester, has launched a regional Hydrogen Skills Framework to bolster the UK's transition towards a hydrogen economy and support the government's Net Zero target. The framework, developed in collaboration with industry, academia, and government, aims to address the identified skills gap in the hydrogen sector. Through a series of roundtable events and detailed analysis, occupational profiles across the hydrogen value chain were mapped to outline pathways for skill development and collaboration. The comprehensive evaluation within the framework covers various aspects of the hydrogen industry such as production, distribution, safety, and enabling sectors. By providing actionable insights and showcasing industry case studies, the framework highlights the skills needed for a sustainable hydrogen economy.
