Loughborough University is hosting the HyDEX Hydrogen Summer School, a week-long program starting on 9th September, designed to bring together industry, civic, and research audiences to delve into the realm of hydrogen technologies and applications. The event, coordinated by HyDEX, a collaboration of Midlands Energy Research Accelerator universities, UK commercial partners, and multinationals, aims to drive innovation, foster market development, and facilitate the skills transition required for achieving Net Zero emissions targets. The Summer School features presentations by experts such as Dr. Chris Dudfield from Intelligent Energy and Ashley van Bruygom from the National Centre for Combustion and Aerothermal Technology, shedding light on advancements in hydrogen fuel cell systems and aviation combustion. Additionally, there will be discussions on Loughborough University's lead acid battery-electrolyser technology for green hydrogen production. The program extends beyond Loughborough, with visits planned to the University of Birmingham and Cranfield University, showcasing their contributions to the hydrogen economy. The initiative reflects Loughborough's commitment to collaborative research and innovation in driving sustainable practices and technological advancements in the hydrogen sector.
