Nine Victorian Tech Schools have been awarded funding totaling more than $2.1 million from the Victorian Government's Clean Energy Equipment Fund (CEEF). The program focuses on collaboration between Tech Schools, secondary schools, and industry partners to offer STEM education linked to renewable energy, robotics, and advanced manufacturing. The Minister for Education, Ben Carroll, emphasized the importance of providing students with the necessary tools to excel in the renewable energy sector. Through the CEEF, schools can purchase industry-standard equipment such as wind and solar power units, 3D laser scanners, and virtual reality kits. The funding supports programs like 'Renewable Future' and 'Discovering energy,' exposing students to renewable energy generation and optimization. Additionally, the CEEF contributes to creating job opportunities in sectors like carbon specialization, electric vehicle repair, and energy auditing. The investment in Tech Schools aligns with Victoria's goal of achieving 95% renewable energy by 2035. The recipients have outlined specific plans for utilizing the funding to enhance their curriculum, focusing on practical applications and hands-on experiences for students, ultimately preparing them for careers in the renewable energy field.
