The Vietnamese Consul General in Fukuoka, Vu Chi Mai, engaged in a working session with a delegation from the National Innovation Centre (NIC) in Tokyo to discuss the deployment of a hydrogen energy development strategy until 2030 with a vision towards 2050. The meeting emphasized Japan's advantages in implementing the strategy, Fukuoka and Kyushu's strengths in hydrogen development, and the necessity of collaboration between the two countries to progress hydrogen energy development. The collaboration aims to support the NIC in seeking Japanese partners, developing human resources, and facilitating technology transfer for Vietnam's hydrogen energy policy. Dr. Pham Hung Cuong from the International Research Centre for Hydrogen Energy (IRCHE) at Kyushu University provided insights on advanced hydrogen technologies and potential cooperation with Vietnam. NIC's Deputy Director, Do Tien Thinh, outlined the organization's development orientations, focusing on innovation ecosystems, AI, semiconductor technology, and hydrogen. Thinh expressed optimism for continued support in collaborative research, human resource training, and scientific workshops on hydrogen between Japan and Vietnam. The NIC delegation also visited IRCHE at Kyushu University to further their understanding of hydrogen research and technology.
