Trigon Pacific Terminals and the Ulsan Free Economic Zone Authority have entered into a partnership to facilitate the export of hydrogen-based ammonia from Canada to South Korea. The agreement, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding signed in Seoul, emphasizes the development of receiving terminals in Ulsan to cater to the demand in Asian markets. This collaboration is a significant step towards enabling Canada to export up to two million metric tonnes of ammonia annually, with the operation expected to commence by late 2029. Hydrogen-as-ammonia serves as an efficient medium for hydrogen transportation and can be utilized as a clean fuel option, aligning with the global shift towards sustainable energy sources.
