The 2024 RDA National Forum held in Busselton brought together RDA committees from various regions in Australia to celebrate efforts aimed at improving economic growth and resilience in local communities. The event included an awards dinner that acknowledged the significant contributions of RDAs in supporting local economies, places, people, and services. Winners in different categories were recognized for their outstanding initiatives, such as the Pilbara Hydrogen Hub project, which focuses on renewable hydrogen production and export to drive economic growth, and the Tropical North Economic Development Strategy, aiming to enhance economic diversity and infrastructure through targeted investments. The forum, themed Big Challenges, Big Opportunities, featured panels on critical areas like innovation, connectivity, housing, skills, and the energy transition, providing valuable insights for regional development. Federal Minister Kristy McBain highlighted the innovative work of RDAs in ensuring a better future for regional Australia and encouraged the celebration of their proactive contributions.
