A groundbreaking partnership between Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and KPIT Technologies is set to revolutionize public transportation in Kerala with hydrogen-powered buses. Launched at the Global Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Summit in Kochi, this alliance aims to establish a hydrogen ecosystem in the state. The initiative involves creating Hydrogen Refuelling Stations in Kochi and Trivandrum to support pilot projects featuring fuel cell buses. The collaboration focuses on using indigenous technologies like alkaline electrolysers for hydrogen production and locally manufactured buses. Kerala's first hydrogen bus demonstration showcased the efficiency of the technology and will collect vital data for further development. BPCL's stations will ensure a reliable hydrogen supply for buses and facilitate training for personnel, advancing hydrogen mobility infrastructure in India.
