Iveco Bus, operating under the Heuliez Bus brand GX 337 H2 Linium, is set to supply 12 E-Way H2 buses to the Cannes Lérins Urban Community in France, with deliveries commencing in the latter half of 2025. These buses, presented at Busworld 2023 in Brussels, are part of the Cannes PALM BUS network's transition to hydrogen technology. The Cannes Lérins Urban Community has been at the forefront of sustainable public transport, having operated a fully decarbonized bus fleet using electric power and biofuels since June 2023. The addition of hydrogen-powered buses marks a significant step towards further reducing emissions. The E-Way H2 buses are equipped with a 100 kW fuel cell from Hyundai Motor, hydrogen tanks, and a 69 kWh battery, providing an impressive range of up to 450 km while optimizing hydrogen consumption by 15-20%. Cannes plans to establish a hydrogen production station by 2025 to fuel 41 buses, emphasizing a commitment to clean energy. Giorgio Zino, Head of Iveco Bus Europe Commercial Operations, expressed pride in the selection by Cannes Lérins Urban Community, highlighting the company's expertise in zero-emission mobility solutions and hydrogen technology.
