The Energy Transition Centre and the Calgary Region Hydrogen Hub in downtown Calgary are poised to drive Alberta's clean tech landscape forward, thanks to new federal investments totaling over $8.3 million. The Honourable Anita Anand unveiled funding for 13 projects in Alberta focused on advancing sustainable innovation in the energy and natural resources sectors. Two significant investments include $2 million to expand the Energy Transition Centre and $1.5 million to establish the Calgary Region Hydrogen Hub. The Centre will scale operations, support clean tech ventures, and enhance collaborations across various stakeholders, building on previous investments. The Hydrogen Hub aims to bolster Alberta's presence in the emerging hydrogen economy, connecting capabilities with hubs in other cities. Additional funding will support Indigenous renewable energy projects, technology scaling for FulcrumAir, clean tech training initiatives, and more. Overall, the investments are projected to create 240 jobs in Alberta, in line with the government's focus on sustainable development and collaboration.
